SB 1 Compliance
Advance Ohio Higher Education Act (SB 1) officially took effect on June 27, 2025, though several provisions include staggered or delayed implementation deadlines. The full text of the legislation is available and additional guidance on compliance timelines can be found on the

SB1 Requirements
As required by SB 1, ҹо will share a list of speakers who were invited to participate in University-sponsored events and were paid speaker fees, honoraria or other emoluments more than $500 in the past month.
Invited Speakers Informationҹо is actively engaged in a comprehensive policy development and review process. This initiative will focus on the revision and creation of several key academic policies, including:
- Faculty Workload Policy
- Faculty Annual Performance Evaluation Policy
- Faculty Tenure Policy
- Retrenchment Policy
- Post-tenure Review Policy

Statement of CommitmentSB 1 requires the university to have a process to address complaints regarding violations of the Campus Free Speech Policy and inform students and employees of its protections. The university’s current process already fulfills the requirements for a process to investigate complaints about alleged intellectual diversity violations.
